| Abstract: | To assist future research, Tropenbos compiled a bibliography of research carried out in the Colombian Amazon region. The specific objective of this bibliography is to identify possible gaps in the knowledge amassed and to avoid overlaps in research. In addition to the printed version the database is available on diskette which can be used with Cardbox programme. The bibliography contains 1,665 titles covering a wide range of disciplines. In addition to titles on the use of natural resources, forestry, the colonisation process and agriculture in the colonisation areas, many titles refer to the social structure, language and history of indigenous people in the Colombian Amazon. Geographically, the bibliography focuses on the relatively undisturbed Araracuara region and the colonisation area around San José del Guaviare. | |
