| Abstract: | The document presents the results of research conducted by the Tropenbos Cameroon Program,me into sustainable land use planning in the area mentioned in the title. The project also provided a basis for all ecologically oriented research activities within the TCP area. THe results from the sample areas can also be extrapolated to larger areas in South Cameroon. The landforms in the study area include mountains, hills (varying in steepness), erosional plains and floodplains comprising five ecological zones. As is often the case, human activities have influenced the natural vegetation in some areas through logging and shifting cultivation. A colour landscape ecological map (divided into 14 main mapping units) is included in the publication. | |
